Hi everyone!
This bank holiday weekend was a very relaxed affair - Tim's Dad and Stepmum came over from Rotherham, and Tim and I took the opportunity of a night out together (yes, a proper grown up night out!) We hadn't had one of those since we went away for our wedding anniversary in December so it made a lovely change.
On Bank Holiday Monday we decided to explore some of the nice places not far from us, up here in North Yorkshire. Firstly we went to Thornton-Le-Dale which was really picturesque - just look at this gorgeous thatched cottage - it looks straight off a chocolate box
The weather was bright and breezy and so we enjoyed an ice cream on our stroll.
I love this picture of Georgia and Tim dropping twigs in the stream and watching them float away
We then went on to Pickering which was just as lovely and has a great flea market - I could have spent ages in there, but unfortunately the rest of the family didn't feel the same way!
Just a short post today, we have been really busy of late, I can't believe the school holidays are now drawing to a close, but I will hopefully be back to posting more regularly come September

OMG the lack of adult time has rendered me incapable of spelling the word Grown lol
Those grown up nights out are so precious aren't they?!! We all take them for granted before the little people arrive, but once they do...boy do they become a rarity!! The stupid thing is I'm always too tired to really enjoy them after 4 years of no sleep!!! Glad you had a great weekend though. The cottage reminds me of a thatch I used to live in many moons ago..called 'The Old Thatch' funnily enough (I didn't name it)!! Another thing in my life I took for granted!! I wouldn't have it any other way now though!
It looks like a beautiful setting and what a gorgeous cottage. As for a grown up night out I haven't had one of those for 2 years!!

I love fleamarkets too, but I have the same problem, my OH would rather be looking around a tackle shop! Such a beautiful place, I would love to visit Yorkshire some day. x
what a fabulous cottage, real chocolate box. Glad you had a good night out.

Thanks for the comment on my blog Natalie. If this cottage wows you folks from the uk, it certainly does that and more for us here in Canada. To us it IS just a picture off a chocolate box. We just dont have those wonderful old houses here. Beautiful.
I will look forward to enjoying your blog a little more when my little one is in bed tonight.
Thanks for your well wishes re my daughter. She is a sweet girl, and her husband cannot be thinking straight. You are right she is better off, but she will take a while to see that herself.
See you again.
Lois
I've had 1 grown up night this year too !! The thatched cottage is gorgeous - I'm sure I've been there, is it beside a stream which is on the right of your picture?
