Sunday in Scarborough

Well, it seems like I have been away from the computer for days, although in reality it has only been 24 hours. the reason - well, number one is the ironing - I have just finished a 3 foot pile of ironing (no, really)! - I love ironing so much that I try to do it at least once a month, it is my second favourite activity to banging my head against a brick wall. Reason 2 is that Hubby's Dad and stepmum visited us on Saturday, although it was only a one night visit, we had a lovely day today, we went into Scarborough. It was lovely and bright, but still very cold and breezy - We walked all the way around the harbour and then went for fish and chips, finished off with a 99 on the beach. Can you believe there were actually people in the sea? - I can only assume they don't get to the coast much, as I was wrapped up in my winter coat and scarf and was still freezing! Here is a little piccie of my darling enjoying her icecream

Hi Natalie, wow the blue sky in your photos is wonderful, I do believe it may have been an even nicer day up in Yorkshire. I have to admit I haven't ever visited, but I would love to. What a lovely day was had by all in Scarborough, you can't beat fish 'n chips and a 99 for fodder. There was me almost thinking you loved ironing, until I reached the end of your sentence! x

I can just pick out the Grand hotel in the background where, when I was ten and staying with my granny, the Beatles were staying and came out onto the balcony for the fans. I so wanted to see them but was made to listen to Max Jaffa play the violin on the spa instead!

Hi Natalie, thanks for your comment! I've already been reading your blog but hadn't left a comment as yet.Lovely pictures of Scarborough, those people must have been mad going in the sea!(I bet they were boys-it's the kind of thing my two would do just because its "the sea", serves them right if their willies drop off!!!) as for ironing..the most hideous task created EVER...my tumble dryer kindly does most of it for me!

umGlad you had a nice day, Scarborough is fab isn't it? We spent the afternoon in a lovely sunny but windswept Bridlington last Wednesday - my Mothers Day treat as I was working the previous weekend. Had a brill time. I love the Yorkshire coast this time of year - beautiful but quiet :)

How lovely, the beach chips and ice cream all in one day- that is slightly above ironing on my list, I must say! One day when I am rich and famous I shall employ an ironing person!xx

The thought of swimming this time a year is sending shivers down my spine as we speak!

I love winter days at the seaside, their something exhilerating about it!

What a lovely view of Scarborough. Who can resist fish and chips after a walk along the front? I can't believe that anyone would want to swim in the North Sea at this time of year though!

We used to always holiday in Filey and Scarborough as kids (at Butlins of course!) My dad would have loved to live up there.I have a photo of him on the front at Scarborough which I love.He died when I was 15 so that part of the country holds very special memories for me.
